SMV Product Launch - A complete cleaning system for Potrooms

This solution is a complete automated potroom cleaning system designed to replace or in addition to conventional operator-driven diesel cleaning equipment with battery-electric, autonomous technology.

The system consists of:

• Autonomous AGV robots (battery-electric)
  Fully electric AGVs powered by onboard battery systems and driven by electric motors, eliminating diesel engines, exhaust emissions, and fuel handling. One or multiple AGVs can operate per system, enabling continuous cleaning cycles using shared charging and material discharge infrastructure.
• Battery charging and material discharge station
  A fixed station enabling automated battery charging and controlled discharge of collected material. This removes the need for manual refueling, reduces idle time, and supports continuous operation without operator intervention.
• Fleet management system
  Centralized control of AGV routing, task allocation, charging sequences, and system status. The fleet management system enables coordinated multi-vehicle operation, load balancing, and scalable deployment based on potroom size and cleaning demand.

The use of battery-electric AGVs instead of diesel-powered machines eliminates local exhaust emissions and reduces noise and vibration. Fewer mechanical wear components in the electric drivetrain result in lower maintenance demand, while predictable and repeatable cleaning performance is maintained.

Key elements of the system architecture and operating methodology are subject to a pending patent application.

Together, these components form an integrated solution that automates the complete potroom cleaning process, reduces operator exposure to heat and dust, and improves operational efficiency in aluminium smelter environments.
